My eyes close to shield the bright light

the warmth of the sun fills me

Along the water I see

birds and small animals playfully banter.

Pine cones float to me

The reflection

a girl with a pure spirit

open to my smiles and wisdom

eager to show me

joy

I realize as I look

reflective eyes

my own look back at me

Are you okay? My eyes fill with tears.

She takes my hand and says yes.

As we leave she hands me a small stone and says

I am always

Within You

My younger self has much to teach.

Silence.

Silently observing and all at once

understanding.

Understanding internal thoughts and feelings.

Allowing to speak her truth.

The deer sits with me,

walks through the path.

The butterflies and dragonflies lead the way

to the cool water and

drink the pale blue skies.

My gift is forever with me

and all at once within.
